Murabaha is an Islamic financing system in which a bank buys an asset requested by a customer and then sells it to the customer at an agreed-upon, marked-up price. The customer repays the bank in installments, and the transaction is structured as a sale rather than an interest-bearing loan to comply with Shariah law, which prohibits interest (riba). This is also known as "cost-plus financing"
